Also, it is the most capricious of the Latin-American dances. The short, temperamental steps present a wonderful opportunity for couples to display their rhythmical and technical ability, and the catchy music is a constant inspiration for new improvisations. Although the Cha-Cha is often described as a capricious dance, it demands, on the other hand, great precision and very exact footwork. Like the Cha Cha, the Twist was greeted with great en-thusiasm by dancers everywhere. Moreover, the Twist is not merely danced in ballrooms, night clubs and at dance parties, but in fact virtually celebrated! There are several reasons for this popularity: The Twist is danced on the spot, and is thus „danceable“ on even the most crowded floor. It is a great fun, and looks so easy to do that any-body can attempt it. Of course, there are countless compli-cated Twist variations and these are not all easy, but let us leave those to the young people and the people who are young at heart!
